Head of Kebayoran Baru District's Water Resources Unit, Sutopo said the road collapsed due to a landslide in the water channel under the road when heavy rain hit the area.
"It's not that big. However, if it's not repaired quickly, there's concern it could lead to further collapse, given the high traffic volume on the bridge," he said, Tuesday (5/12).

The use of box culverts was chosen because they have a stronger structure to withstand the weight of vehicles on the road.
"All sides of the channel are also cast to strengthen the construction," he added.
The drainage work has now been completed. The road paving process following the repairs will be handled by the Public Works Sub-agency.
Meanwhile, a local resident, Irwin Ramdani appreciated the road repair.
"This location serves as access to a fast food restaurant, resulting in heavy traffic. If not repaired quickly, it will pose a danger to passersby," he admitted.
